  40. I need information on basic netrom chip burning. I have all the
  41. paperwork on TheNet X-1J Release 2 but they do not say how to burn
  42. basic EPROMS. I have sent my $15 to the North East Digital Assn,
  43. Manchester NH for their TheNet X-1J network guide but nothing
  44. received yet. I'm more than a little miffed at the lack of help
  45. by a certain SYSOP on the Northern Calif DX Packet network.

  66. I run (not simultaneously, of course :-) both a PK-900 and a KAM Plus 
  67. into the FSK connector of a Yaesu FT-990 both for PACTOR and straight 
  68. RTTY.  No problem whatsoever.

  70. The advantages of going this route, instead of injecting tones through
  71. LSB are 1) the filters in the rig are properly centered, without
  72. fiddling with passband tuning, to where the PACTOR controller wants 
  73. to see the signal, and 2) you won't accidentally have the speech
  74. processor turned on and splatter whatever tiny RTTY subband we have.

  76. Nothing wrong with your Omni V at all for PACTOR work.  I also own
  77. an Omni-V.  Notice that the Omni performs FSK by frequency shifting 
  78. an RF oscillator, whereas a rig such as the FT-990 injects the output
  79. from an internal AFSK oscillator into the LSB modulator.  The religious
  80. can dance on the head of a pin as to which scheme is superior :-).

  154. For DOS stuff, I would take a look at oak.oakland.edu, /pub/msdos.  This
  155. is one of the primary Simtel mirror sites, and has a lot of DOS stuff.

  194. Sounds like you have the "X-on/X-off" terminal data flow setting on. Try 
  195. turning it off and also set your computer for hardware flow control (aka 
  196. "RTS/CTS"). If all else fails, clear the memory in the PK232 by removing 
  197. power from the unit, then remove the battery jumper. Wait at least 60 
  198. seconds before you replace the jumper. If that does not cure the problem 
  199. and you are SURE that your cable is good, call AEA.

  263. It supports PACTOR/RTTY/AMOTOR/ (GTOR I think) and PACKET !
  264. I have used a version of it called  TESTDRIVE for VHF PACKET and like it 
  265. But the TNC I use HAs some Limititions using Kagold.(KPC3).
  266. I think that you KaGold is a good Choice.

  312. I know of no combination of keys to accomplish KISS mode if it is not
  313. included in the ROM version in the 1270.  However, I'm fairly sure you
  314. can still get a new ROM with the KISS command from MFJ.. I did about
  315. a year ago for the same reason.  Give them a call and I think they
  316. can solve your problem..
